Postal officials defend $13,500 steak dinner
WASHINGTON - When the U.S. Postal Service rang up a $13,500 tab at an Orlando steakhouse, it spared no expense during a five-hour meal that government investigators are calling "abusive" in its extravagance.
The order -- charged to government credit cards -- included more than $3,000 for drinks, more than $500 for shrimp cocktails and almost $900 for mini crab cakes, according to the Government Accountability Office, the investigate arm of Congress.
And then there's the steak.
Students Plagarize Honor Code
SAN ANTONIO - Their goal was an honor code that discouraged cheating and plagiarizing.
However, the wording in a draft by students at the University of Texas at San Antonio appears to match another school's code - without proper attribution.
The student currently in charge of the honor code project said it was an oversight, but cheating experts say it illustrates a sloppiness among Internet-era students who don't know how to cite sources properly and think of their computers as cut-and-paste machines.
Pastor admits stealing IDs from flock

The former pastor of a Northumberland County church acknowledges using parishioners' personal information to obtain credit cards.The Rev. Raymond Clayton pleaded guilty Monday in federal court in Williamsport to a charge of access device fraud. He awaits sentencing in June. The 43-year-old Clayton is the former pastor of Grace Fellowship Church near Mount Carmel.

TAMPA, Fla. -- A legal dispute over the theft of virtual sex toys has resulted in a real-life slap on the wrist. A federal judge accepted the settlement Thursday of a lawsuit filed last year against a Texas man accused of stealing sex toys developed for the online world, "Second Life."
Man Gets Stolen Mustang Back 38 Years Later
(AP) LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles man is getting his stolen Mustang back _ 38 years after it was stolen. The vehicle has an extra 300,000 miles and a different paint job, but Eugene Brakke’s 1965 Mustang is evidently running just fine.
Brakke reported the car stolen to Burbank police in May 1970.
One month later, a Long Beach teenager named Judy Smongesky received the car as a high school graduation gift from her father, who had bought it at a Bellflower used car dealer.
Norwegian hospital to equip babies with anti-theft alarms
OSLO (AFP) - A Norwegian hospital said Monday it was planning to equip all newborn babies with anti-theft alarms to protect them from kidnappings and help avoid identity mix-ups.
"The main reason is that we want to emphasise security," Erik Normann, head of the Akershus University Hospital near Oslo told AFP.
"There was a period in which Norway experienced several infant kidnappings and that is something we want to avoid," he said.
Judges overturn libel verdict over bad review given Irish pizzeria
DUBLIN, Ireland - The decision was bound to leave a bad taste in somebody's mouth.
In this case it's the owner of Belfast pizzeria whose unprecedented libel verdict has been overturned by a Northern Ireland appeals court.
Owner Ciaran Convery successfully sued a Belfast newspaper over a review that deemed his Goodfellas restaurant smoky, sloppy and unappetizing.
But Northern Ireland Chief Justice Brian Kerr ruled that a Belfast jury erred in law last year when it awarded Convery $50,000 in damages.
Stylist Shot Complaining Client
A Pennsylvania hairstylist is behind bars this morning after officials say a complaint about a haircut allegedly prompted a shooting.
Officials say it happened Thursday night inside an apartment in Washington, Pa., reports CBS station KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh.
Police say Monique Reed, 38, is facing charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Reed is accused of shooting Lauren Newton, 28, according to officials.
Man Makes Bomb Threat To Get Beer
A Virginia Beach man says he called in a bomb threat to a Target store to get the police away from a grocery store across the street just to rob it of beer!
The saga all started Wednesday afternoon when Virginia Beach Emergency Communications got a 911 call from a pay phone in the Birdneck Shopping Center.
